Stoke City begin the weekend in 19th place in the Premier League but only a point from safety. However, they host the league leaders Manchester City who, if they win, will have exactly three times the number of points their opponents have. Stoke have gone five league games without a win but four of those have ended in draws. The highest placed league opponent in those games has been eighth placed Leicester so not the toughest of fixture lists but that all changes this week. They have only lost one of their last five home league games but again the opposition has been mid-table/relegation candidates. Scoring goals is a big problem for them with just three in the last five league matches. Earlier in the season they did manage to score twice at the Etihad, something no other Premier League side has managed this season, trouble is they conceded seven themselves. Manchester City start the weekend just the 16 points clear at the top of the table which is only 11 less than Stoke have earned this season. Away form has seen them lose just once at Liverpool and the defeat by Basel in midweek can be put down to a severely weakened team. Go for Manchester City to get yet another win and to be ahead at both half and full time in a game they are bound to dominate.
