19th placed Stoke City hope to end a poor run when hosting Hull City who are sixth in the Championship. Stoke have earned seven points from as many Championship games but are four points above the relegation zone. Their opponents are in the final promotion play-off position but a win would take them to within two points of them. The Potters are struggling for form though with three defeats in a row before drawing their most recent game at Huddersfield Town. They both trailed and led in that away game but at least it ended that run of defeats. Home form has seen Stoke beat Rotherham and Watford before being beaten 2-0 by league leaders Preston. The last two home league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. That stat has come up in four of their last five home league fixtures.

Hull City have made a much better start to the season and are unbeaten in their last six league games. The season began with them taking the lead at Norwich but losing 2-1 due to a last gasp goal. The Tigers have roared back since then with wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers. Three of their next four in the Championship have ended level but they did get a good 1-0 win at Leicester City. Their last four league fixtures have all had under 2.5 goals scored in them, the most recent a home 0-0 draw with Leeds United. The history books indicate this will be a low-scoring affair and we go for under 2.5 goals to be scored.
