Stoke City begin the weekend in eighth place just four points off the top six. They are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games with three wins and a hard fought draw at Chelsea last weekend. European football is their target and they'll be keeping a close eye on the FA Cup because if a team already qualified for Europe wins that then seventh place will be good enough for European qualification and they are only a point behind that. Home form has been good recently with just one defeat in the last five home games.  Southampton are a side that go through good runs, have a bad time then get back on form and then slip out of it again. They're on another bad patch at present with just one point from their last three games and begin this game in ninth place in the table, six points off the top six and two behind Stoke. The Saints went through a brilliant run at the start of the year with wins and clean sheets galore. Then they saw Chelsea come from behind to get a 2-1 win at St Mary's, lost 2-0 at Bournemouth and needed a late equalizer to grab a point at home to relegation threatened Sunderland. They really need to get something from this game particularly as their next games are against Liverpool and Leicester. I think Stoke can get the win here and boost their European qualification hopes.
