Stoke City vs Sheffield Wednesday Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup

Stoke City are never going to win the Premier League but the odd cup competition might come their way. They reached the FA Cup final a few years ago and won the League Cup back in the 1970s. A win over Sheffield Wednesday from the Championship will take them within two games of another Wembley appearance. Stoke lost on Saturday to Sunderland but were holding their own until having a player sent off. Recent weeks has seen them in decent form and defensively they are strong. Sheffield Wednesday knocked out a weakened Arsenal side in the last round but will probably find this a bit more challenging. They have only won one of their last four games and might just struggle here. This is the cup though and if Wednesday gee themselves up like they did for the Arsenal game anything could happen. That's why I'm a little bit hesitant over predicting the result of this game so on recent evidence of the way an 11-man Stoke side plays I go for under 2.5 goals as a good bet here.
