Stoke City have had another inconsistent season and start the weekend in 13th place, eight points above the relegation zone and six clear of their opponents. Just the nine league wins all season but this game gives them a good chance of making it to double figures. That's what they have been trying to do for the last five games but have managed just one point from those matches and have lost the last four but against decent opposition. At home, they have lost the last two against Chelsea and Liverpool but had been on an unbeaten run of four games prior to that. Hull City are one place and two points above the bottom three, a position they'd love to finish in. Their climb out of the relegation zone has been achieved due to three wins in the last five league games but all at home and against struggling sides such as Swansea, West Ham and Middlesbrough. They have to get home wins because their away form is appalling, actually it's worse than that with just one point from their last 14 league matches. I wouldn't put too much on this game as neither side are dependable. Stoke need a win to rid themselves of any relegation fears and Hull despite playing well at home just produce nothing on their travels. Go for Stoke to win in a game that has under 2.5 goals.
