Stoke vs Brighton Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Kennedy Kechula | in FA Cup Predictions
The fifth round of the English FA Cup kicks off this week with one of the matches lined up seeing Stoke City hosting Brighton and Hove Albion at the Bet365 Stadium on Tuesday. This is both Stoke and Brighton’s only chance at a trophy this season. Stoke beat League Two side Stevenage to advance to this round. It hasn’t been a great season for Stoke; they look set to finish in the bottom half of the Championship this season after struggling with consistency. They have a record of 11 wins, seven draws and 16 losses and will be happy to take a break from the league and play in a cup competition, where they have excelled this season. Alex Neil’s men come into this match having won just two of their last six matches and lost 1-0 at home to Millwall last time out. They have scored six goals in that stretch but the goals have surprisingly come in just two matches (three each) which are the matches they won. At home this season in the league, Stoke have lost more than they have won but they have conceded just one goal in their last four matches and scored seven while keeping three clean sheets. Josh Laurent and Lewis Baker have scored four of Stoke’s last six goals and will be the danger men against Brighton alongside club top scorer Jacob Brown. All three players were on the score sheet in the 3-1 win over Stevenage that set up this fixture with Brighton.
Brighton overcame fellow Premier League side, Liverpool, to get to this round of the FA Cup. However, they come into this match after a losing outing. Roberto De Zerbi’s men lost 1-0 at home to Fulham in the Premier League to lose more ground in the race for a place in Europe for next season. The Seagulls are performing far much better though and have already won the second most number of matches (10) they have managed in six years in the topflight. Before losing to Fulham, Brighton had been on a seven-match unbeaten run winning five of those matches with one of them being a 2-1 win over Liverpool in round four of the FA Cup. They have scored 18 goals in those seven matches with Kaoru Mitoma and Solly March banging in four goals each. Brighton will be without their manager De Zerbi for this match after he was red-carded in the game with Fulham. The absentees from the playing unit will be Danny Welbeck, Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder and Levi Colwill who are all out due to injury.

Our Stoke vs Brighton Prediction
These two teams are on different paths in their respective leagues with Brighton faring much better than Stoke. Brighton come to this clash missing several key players as well as their head coach and this could play a big part on Tuesday. The two teams havent managed a lot of clean sheets, thus we predict that Stoke City v Brighton will end up with both teams scoring.
