St Mirren vs Celtic Prediction & Betting Tips - Scottish Premiership
by Steve Ashfield | in Scottish Premiership Predictions
Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic travel to fifth placed St Mirren in their first game of 2024. Celtic's 2-0 home win over Rangers on Saturday wasn't just the best way to end the year. It extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points, though Rangers do have a couple of games in hand. Rangers host Kilmarnock earlier in the day so it may well be that Celtic's lead is only five points when this game begins. Celtic have won 16 of their 21 games in the Scottish Premiership this season with only a couple of losses. They come into this game looking to make it four league wins in a row. Away form has seen the Celts win eight out of ten with only one loss at Kilmarnock.
Earlier in the season, Celtic came from behind to get a 2-1 win at home to St Mirren. Now they travel to the SMISA stadium with St Mirren in fifth but 22 points behind their opponents. The weekend saw St Mirren win 3-0 at Aberdeen. That victory ended a poor run of just one point from three games, none of which they scored in. St Mirren have won five out of ten home games in the Scottish Premiership this season with two defeats. They have failed to score in their last two home league fixtures without scoring. Only two of their last five home league fixtures have been won. We tip Celtic to get an away win.
