Sporting Lisbon finished second in their Europa League group qualifying with little difficulty. They lost at home to Arsenal but grabbed a draw at the Emirates. All their other group games were won as they finished ten points clear of third-placed Vorskla Poltava. Two of their three home games were won and only one of their last six Europa League home games has been lost with four clean sheets. Current form is a bit patchy though with only one win over 90 minutes in their last six games. They have been up against the other top three teams in Portugal though.

Villarreal won their group despite only winning two out of six games. The other four were drawn but that saw them finish top ahead of Rapid Vienna and Rangers. It was their home form that got them through with all three away matches being drawn. Theiir La Liga campaign this season has been a disastrous one and they are currently one from bottom in the table. Villarreal are four points from safety and a European campaign next season isn't at all likely. They have ten league and cup games without a win and haven't won in La Liga since the end of November. It's 13 games since their last away win and the tip here is for Sporting to get the win.
