Sporting Lisbon had a great campaign last season, ending their long wait without winning the league title and they will be eyeing another fine run this season. They start their season with the Super Cup game, against Sporting Braga, a side they have beaten in each of the last three meetings. In each of these three meetings, Sporting have kept clean sheets and they go into this game win a good run from preseason. In their two preseason friendly matches, they registered wins, over French sides Lyon and Angers, making it three straight wins for the team. Sporting Braga bagged the Portuguese Cup after beating Benfica in the final, thus booking a spot for this game. After a poor run against Sporting Lisbon in their recent meetings, they will be hoping for a break here. Both teams have scored in their last three matches and only one of their last five matches have seen over 2.5 goals scored.
