Sporting will continue with their chase for the Primeira Liga title on Saturday with a home game against Nacional. The two sides are on exact opposite ends of the league table, Sporting at the top with 73 points while Nacional are rock bottom with 24 points. Sporting have had a great season and overcame their recent slump with a crucial 1-0 win over Braga in their last game. That win, coupled with FC Porto dropping points on the same weekend, means from the remaining five matches, Sporting need 10 points to claim their first league title since 2002. Sporting are currently six points clear and still unbeaten in the league, but heading to this game, they’ll be without Goncalo Inacio, who was sent off in the 18th minute as Sporting needed an 81st minute goal to see off Braga. This was their second win in the last five matches and the sixth time in seven matches that they failed to score more than a goal. They have 10 clean sheets in the last 15 matches. Their last two home matches have produced back to back draws, but they have seven wins in 10.

Nacional have five matches to save their season; they are six points below the safe zone and they made a big step towards it with a 1-0 win over sixth placed Vitoria Guimaraes in the last game. That was their first win in 11 matches; the earlier 10 had all ended in losses. No team has conceded more than Nacional (47) in the league this season and here they get to face one of the best scoring sides in Primeira Liga. It is highly unlikely they’ll leave the capital with anything from this game especially having conceded two or more goals in nine of the last 11 matches, and keeping only one clean sheet. They have four straight losses against Sporting and are winless in 19 matches in this fixture. Away from home, Nacional have five straight losses in the league and in each of them, they’ve conceded at least two goals.
