Sport Recife will play host to Santos in the fourth round of the Brazilian Serie A on Friday with both sides looking to rise from a slow start in the season. Each of the two teams has registered one win from the opening three rounds and heading to this clash they both have four points. Santos are placed eighth by virtue of a better goal difference while Sport Recife are placed 10th. Recife are winless in their last two matches, after the opening 3-2 win over Ceara and will be seeking their first clean sheet of the season, having conceded five goals already. The team is freshly promoted after relegation in 2018 and they will be hoping to stay up this time. They have already registered a home win, in the 3-2 victory over Ceara, in an action packed first half that saw four goals. After two straight away matches, they will be glad to play at home again. In Recife’s last match, they needed a 90th minute goal to ensure a share of spoils with Atletico Goianiense, who had to play with 10 men after Dudu’s 64th minute sending off. Recife are a better outfit at home; they played in Pernambucano 1 and Copa do Nordeste post lockdown and added to their league game played as well as the earlier Serie B matches, they have just one loss in 19 home matches. They have scored in each of their last 13 home matches but have only five clean sheets.

As for Santos, it has not been a very good run in recent matches; the win over Athletico Paranaense in their last match was the first in their last seven games.
