Spezia are on their second season in the Serie A and Match Day 5 sees them play host to struggling giants Juventus. The two sides go to this game separated by two points; Spezia are 13th with four points and Juventus are 18th with two points after four matches. Spezia are coming from their first win of the season, beating Venezia 2-1 away from home and getting back home they hope to add to Juve’s misery. They will however have to do better defensively, having managed no clean sheet in their five matches so far, but they have failed to score in just one. Four of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and both sides have scored in four of five matches. Spezia have managed just two wins in 12 league matches and have no clean sheet in 20 Serie A games. Last season, they lost both matches against Juventus in Serie A.

Juventus are really struggling; their fortunes haven’t improved after last season’s failures and the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have made it worse. They are coming from yet another disappointing result, a 1-1 draw with AC Milan which saw them drop into the relegation region. Three of their five matches this season have produced over 2.5 goals and both teams have scored in three of the five. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 18 league matches.
