Spain drew their second game in a row as they were held to a 1-1 draw by World Champions Germany on Friday. That's despite taking a sixth minute lead through Rodrigo before Muller equalized 29 minutes later. That draw followed a 3-3 stalemate with Russia last November where they gave away a 2-0 lead. Spain topped their World Cup group finishing ahead of Italy and were unbeaten winning nine and drawing one and scoring 36 goals and conceding just three. The Spanish side are unbeaten in their last 17 games since being knocked out of Euro 2016 by Italy. At home they are unbeaten in their last seven home games and won the last three by an aggregate of 11-0 and have been defeated in only two of their last 31 home friendlies.

Argentina travelled to England for a friendly against Italy on Friday and came away with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Banega and Lanzini in the final quarter of an hour. Lionel Messi sat on the subs bench without coming on, which must have cheesed off the fans at the Etihad. That was a good win for an Argentinian side that haven't been in the best of form and struggled to qualify for the World Cup. They are still a bit inconistent though as the win over Italy followed a 4-2 home loss to Nigeria. It'll be intereresting to see if Messi starts this game back in the country where he plies his trade. Taking a look at the line-ups is a good idea before any friendly but Spain have a strong squad and can get a hard-fought home win.
