Southampton vs Watford Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Southampton have had a pretty rough run of form over the past couple of months. They have just four points from their last eight league games and have also been knocked out of both the Capital One Cup and at the weekend the FA Cup. Their only win was that 4-0 thrashing of Arsenal on Boxing Day hence my unwillingness to go all out for a Watford win here. Saints are only seven points above the bottom three and face Watford and West Brom at home this week. These are two vital games for Southampton as their next two games are away to Manchester United and Arsenal. A poor return from these two home games might just have them slipping even closer to a relegation battle. Watford are ninth in the table just three points adrift of the Europa League places. They didn't have the greatest of festive periods drawing at Chelsea and then losing home games to Spurs and Manchester City.Two away games at Southampton and Swansea and then Newcastle (who they beat in the FA Cup at the weekend) could have them nearer the top six again by the end of January. Watford are on a three game unbeaten run away from home in the Premier League with just a loss at Leicester in the last seven. I don't think Watford will lose this game and they're reasonable odds on the double chance.
