Southampton will fight itout with Tottenham Hotspur at the St Mary’s Stadium in their last match of2016. The Saints are currently ranked eighth in the league standings, after sixwins, six draws and five losses. Spurs are fifth on the log, having won nine,drawn six and lost two of their league matches this season. At St Mary’s,Southampton have won four, drawn one and lost one of their last six fixtures at St Mary's,making their home form great. Tottenham, on the other hand, have had aless-than-encouraging away form, winning only one of their last six matches onthe road. Mauricio Pochettino has been in great shape the past few weeks afterbeating Burnley 2-1 and Hull City 3-0 in their most recent league matches.Southampton are going into the match after a 3-1 victory away to Bournemouthand coach Claude Puel will be counting on the return of midfielder Oriel Romeuto keep their good show on track. Jordy Clasie is nursing a groin injuryand will not be available for the match along with Matt Targett and CharlieAustin, who are both out with different injuries.
