Southampton vs Manchester United Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Southampton are fifth in the Premier League but face a tough task this weekend. They play host to Manchester United who are 10th but do have a game in hand and a 100% away record. The Saints (like their opponents) made a slow start to the season losing their first two fixtures, including a 5-2 home defeat by Tottenham. They have since made a great recovery though, winning five and drawing two of their games, even topping the table for a day. Home form has been a problem in recent seasons and fans were a bit concerned when losing that match to Tottenham. Since then though, Southampton have won three home league games, all by a 2-0 scoreline. Only one of their last seven Premier League games at St Mary's has been lost, before this run they'd lost four out of five. The Saints are still without Danny Ings but they have managed to score in eight league games in a row an each of the last seven.

Manchester United are four points behind Southampton but do have a game in hand.  They have lost only one of their last five league games and had a comfortable home victory in the Champions League on Tuesday night. That was their third straight win in all competitions with eight goals scored. Much has been made of their problems at home (though three of the last four have been won in all competitions) but they have been having a much better time on the road, especially in the Premier League. They haven't lost any of their last 11 away league matches and won the last seven. In those matches, they have scored at least twice in each of those seven victories. Five of the last seven have had over 2.5 goals scored in them. Southampton are becoming tough to beat at home but United are in great form on their Premier League travels, go for an away win here
