Leeds United managed their first win of the season in the Premier League just before the international break and they will hope to make it two when they travel to Southampton. The two sides meet separated by just two points after tough starts to the campaign. Southampton are 17th with four points and Leeds 16th with six points. The hosts are one of four teams yet to win a game in the league so far. They head to this clash on the back of two straight losses, the most recent having been against Chelsea. Their main attacking threat, James Ward Prowse was sent off in that game, after scoring the equalizer, and Chelsea scored two against a 10-man Southampton. The Saints will definitely have it tougher without their main man, especially operating on the backdrop of having failed to score in three of the last four league matches. Four of their last six league matches have produced under 2.5 goals and they are winless in four home league matches, all these having ended in under 2.5 goals. In the last three matches against Leeds United, Southampton have failed to register a goal.

Leeds United beat Watford in their last game, getting their first win in the league this season. Diego Llorente, a defender, scored the all-important goal, highlighting their issues in attack. It will be tougher now with Patrick Bamford injured and their main attacking threat, Raphinha away on international duty. No other forward apart from the two has scored for Leeds this season, Raphinha having scored three goals. They have two clean sheets in the last five matches and three of their last five matches have ended in under 2.5 goals. Leeds United have scored more than a goal in only one of their seven league matches – the 2-2 draw with Everton.
