Southampton remain bottom of the Premier League and begin the weekend four points from safety. They look for a vital win at home to 12th placed Crystal Palace who have won their last two league fixtures. The Saints have a -27 goal difference and only Bournemouth have one worse than that. They have only won six league games all season and their last top-flight win was over Leicester City in early March. Since then, Southampton have only earned two points from five league games. With Arsenal and Newcastle to play in their next three league games, they desperately need to get something from this match against Crystal Palace. Home form is the worst in the Premier League with just ten points from 15 games and only two wins at the St Mary's Stadium. With seven goals conceded in their last two home league games, the Saints are in real danger of being relegated to the Championship.

Crystal Palace also feared going down this season. A poor run of form led to a change at the top and the return of Roy Hodgson. He's worked wonders in a short time and his return has seen Palace beat both Leicester City and Leeds United with seven goals scored. They begin the weekend six points above the bottom three and the same number behind tenth place. That's a massive improvement after a run of 12 league games without a win and just one goal in the last five. Only three away league games have been won this season but all have come against sides battling relegation. Hodgson has worked his magic again and Palace can be backed to beat an out-of-form Southampton.
