Fourth placed Southampton look to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship. The Saints host Bristol City who are 11th but only six points behind their opponents. Saturday saw Southampton draw 1-1 at Huddersfield Town. They took a first half lead but a late equalizer meant they only returned south with a point. The draw meant they are now unbeaten in nine league games since losing at Middlesbrough in late September. It did however end a run of three straight league victories. Second placed Ipswich Town lost later on Saturday and Southampton are now eight points behind the second and final automatic promotion spot. Home form has seen Southampton win three of their last four Championship fixtures with nine goals scored.

Bristol City had a good 3-2 home win over Middlesbrough on Saturday. The Robins led 2-0 in that game but the visitors pegged them back. City regained the lead and held on to make it seven points from their last three league fixtures. They ended the weekend just three points behind the final promotion play-off position. Away form for City has produced three league wins but they have lost the same number. Just seven away league goals have been scored but only eight conceded. Seven points were earned from their first three away league games of the season but it's been a struggle since then. Only four points have come from the five that have followed. City have failed to score in their last two on the road and three of the last five. We go for a Southampton home win here.
