Southampton have been playing well in the FA Cup but their form in the Premier League has dipped. They are down to 11th in the table and host Aston Villa who are in 10th position, ahead of the Saints on goal difference. Southampton topped the table at one point this season, but after the midweek games are now 14 points behind Manchester United. The weekend saw them beat Arsenal in the FA Cup but three days later, they lost 3-1 at home to them in the Premier League, even after taking a third minute lead. That was their second successive league loss after previously losing 2-0 at Leicester City. Only one of their last seven league games has been won, a 1-0 home win over Liverpool. Goals haven't been flowing, even with Danny Ings back from injury and illness. Southampton have only scored twice in their last six league fixtures - both coming inside the first three minutes of the game. Home form has only seen them win two of the last six league fixtures.

Aston Villa are also past league leaders this season but come into this game having lost three of their last four in the top flight. They and their opponents are only six points behind the final Champions League place, so it could still be a big season for them. Villa are probably still kicking themselves after losing a lead at Burnley on Wednesday and losing 3-2. December saw them earn 14 points from their six league games. January hasn't been anywhere so successful with only four points out of 15. Their only win came at home to Newcastle but everyone beats them at the moment. Only one point has been earned from their last four away games in the Premier League. Two of the three losses sustained were against the two Manchester clubs though. This is an important game for both clubs, Villa have won five away league matches and scored 16 goals. A double chance bet on them to win or draw this game is the tip.
