South Africa W vs Italy W Prediction & Betting Tips - Womens World Cup
by Sridhar | in Womens World Cup Predictions
A place in the round of 16 of the Women’s World Cup is at stake as South Africa play Italy at the Wellington Regional Stadium on Wednesday. This Group G match will see third-placed South Africa on one point and second-placed Italy on three. Sweden are already qualified from the group with six points and play Argentina, who are bottom of the group with one point. South Africa can qualify with a win provided Argentina don’t win against Sweden. If both teams win, it will come to goal difference. As for Italy, a draw is enough if Argentina don’t win but need a victory over South Africa otherwise as their goal difference is poor at minus four.Limited Offer. Currently at DraftKings

South Africa W - Italy W: Form Analysis
South Africa started their campaign with a 2-1 loss to Sweden where they couldn’t hold on to their early second-half lead. They followed it up with a 2-2 draw against Argentina, but it was a case of missed chances as they were leading 2-0 deep into the 70th minute. It was nevertheless their first point of World Cup history, coming after four straight defeats. They can now make it better and qualify for the knockouts but their recent run hasn’t been encouraging. South Africa have won just one of their last six matches, losing three and drawing two.
Italy started the tournament with a 1-0 win over Argentina but were soon sent crashing back to earth. Their 5-0 defeat to Sweden punctured their momentum as well as their goal difference, which is the worst in the group. It was also their worst defeat in World Cup history as they look to bounce back and repeat the performance in 2019 when they reached quarter-finals. Hopefully, they can recreate their form prior to that loss as Italy have won four and drawn one of the five matches preceding that loss to Sweden. Worryingly though, six defeats from their last 11 matches indicate that the Italians are vulnerable.
