Cameroon still top the group with seven points from three games. They won their first two qualifiers with a 1-0 win Mauritania 1-0 at home and a 1-0 victory in Gambia. On Friday they hosted South Africa who had only the one point from their two opening fixtures in the four team group. The South Africans managed to take the lead twice during the game but Cameroon rallied both times to grab a 2-2 draw. In the other game Mauritania beat Gambia 2-1 and are only a point behind Cameroon now. South Africa trail Mauritania by four points so they simply have to win this match to retain any hope of staying in the competition. The South Africans have never beaten Cameroon at home so face a tough task here. Cameroon have only lost one of their last ten internationals and I think they can stay top of the group with a win here as their away form is pretty impressive in recent years.
