Sofapaka claimed a controversial win in their last match, against Wazito FC and they will be looking to build on it when they face reigning champions Tusker in their next game in the FKF Kenyan Premier League. Going into this game, Sofapaka have managed 24 points, in 10th place, while Tusker are sixth on 30 points. The 2-1 win over Wazito was Sofapaka’s first in their last six matches and also the first time they’d scored after going goalless in three previous matches. These two sides played to a 0-0 draw in the first meeting this season and either side will want to keep the three points at stake here, for the benefit of their season. Sofapaka have registered three wins in their last 10 matches, all against struggling teams; twice against Wazito and the other against bottom placed Vihiga Bullets.

Tusker, on the other hand, go into this game unbeaten in their last six matches. They’ve been doing well lately, especially in defence and going into this game the Brewers have kept six straight clean sheets. In their last six matches, they have four wins and in three of them they have scored twice. A win here could see Tusker rise to second spot in the league standings and the team, which started the season feebly, will have thrown itself right into the title race. Tusker signed well ahead of the season and with a number of experienced heads, including goalkeeper Patrick Matasi, they aren’t too far from the title challenge.
