Slovenia vs Scotland Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup

When Scotland lost 3-0 at Wembley last year their chances of reaching the World Cup finals looked bleak. Since then they have earned 13 out of 15 points and could so easily have had five straight wins but for an injury time equalizer by England. A 1-0 win over Slovakia on Thursday took them into second place in the group two points clear of Slovakia and three ahead of their opponents in this final qualifier Slovenia. A win in Slovenia takes them into the play-offs but a draw is likely to eliminate them unless Malta cause a massive shock and avoid defeat in Slovakia. As for Slovenia, a win in this game would also require Malta to avoid defeat to see them finish in the top two. Slovenia should have got at least a draw at Wembley on Thursday and again are struggling for goals with just ten in nine qualifiers. They have only conceded five goals though and seven of their games in this group have seen under 2.5 goals scored. Four home games have produced three wins and a draw with England and they are yet to concede a goal at home but three away defeats have left them unlikely to qualify for Russia next year and they are missing some key players through suspension. Scotland come into this game full of confidence but their only away wins in the group have come against Malta and Lithuania with two 3-0 losses away to England and Slovakia. They have lost four of their last six away games failing to score in any of those defeats. A difficult game to predict when it comes  to win-lose-draw with Scotland knowing they have to get a win and that could cause gaps at the back if it's level in the second half. A bet on under 2.5 goals looks to be the safest bet here.
