One of the tightest pools in Euro 2024 qualification will have Slovenia hosting Finland on Match Day 7. These two face off in Group H with Slovenia top and Finland third. Just a point separates the two sides and as it stands, any of the top five nations can qualify. Slovenia, playing at home, have the advantage here, coming from two straight wins and are unbeaten in three matches. Playing at home further favors them, and they have the chance to avenge their 2-0 loss to Finland in June. Slovenia haven't been to a major tournament for over 10 years but here they have their realest chance. At 13 points and top of this group, a win here would be the boost they need. Slovenia’s biggest strength has to be in their scoring form. They’ve scored two or more goals in four of their six matches in this group. Only Finland stopped their attack, and in their home form they’ll hope to continue with the good run.

Finland started their campaign with an away loss to Denmark but went on a stable run thereafter, winning four straight. That run was however stopped by Denmark again in September as they lost 1-0 away from home. They will hope to avoid a second straight away loss here. That defeat was the first time in this group that the Danes failed to score. They had posted four straight clean sheets before the Denmark game. After their first, and only appearance at a major tournament in Euro 2020, Finland will hope to make this chance count. Should it not work for Finland in this group, they can still advance through the playoffs. This is after their performance in League B of the Nations League.
