Slovenia vs Croatia Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Nella Wagah | in World Cup Predictions
Slovenia topped their League C group in the UEFA Nations League and while that may come to be key in their 2022 World Cup qualification campaign, they have a home game against Croatia to start them off in Group H. Croatia is the first serious opponent Slovenia will have to deal with in nine matches. They are unbeaten in the last eight matches, which include two friendly matches, and they’ve won five of the eight matches. Apart from Greece, who Slovenia have faced twice in the last eight matches, all their other opponents are ranked 108 and below. They’ve played Greece, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Moldova and San Marino, which makes Croatia the most formidable opponent they’ll have. Slovenia have drawn twice with Greece in their last eight matches, both games ending 0-0 and heading here they are unbeaten in five matches at home, with three wins therein. They also have four clean sheets in five matches at home.
Croatia were finalists in the 2018 World Cup in Russia and here they start another journey hoping they can go one better in 2022 in Qatar. Ranked 11th in the world, Croatia will be hoping to start well in Group H, having finished third in their Nations League group, with a paltry three points from six matches. The Croats have had a tough run of matches in their recent outings; they have two wins and five losses in the last eight. Looking at the kind of opposition they’ve had, they can’t be compared with Slovenia. In their last five matches, Croatia have faced Portugal, Sweden, Turkey and France. Apart from 32nd ranked Turkey, all the rest are in the top 20. Croatia have also been in good scoring form, even when losing; they’ve scored in each of their last 21 matches, though they have no clean sheet in the last 11. In seven of their last 10, they’ve scored two or more goals while each of their last 10 matches has produced over 2.5 goals. The 2018 World Cup finalists have one win in their last five away matches.

Our Slovenia vs Croatia Prediction
Croatia have had a poor run of results going to this game, and they may have the feel of underdogs when Slovenia’s run is considered. That will however change with a focus on the kind of opposition the teams have had. Croatia have a quality team and they’ve faced top opponents, including the world and the European champions. Croatia are definitely going to be stronger here and their scoring record is also very encouraging. Back the away team for a win.
