Slovakia vs Wales Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Steve Ashfield | in Football Predictions
Slovakia play their final Euro 2024 warm-up game and host Wales on Sunday. They have already played one international friendly this week and had a comfortable 4-0 home win over San Marino. Wales lost in the play-offs so will be focusing on their upcoming Europa Nations League campaign. However, they could only draw 0-0 with Gibraltar on Thursday and are under pressure to get a positive result against Slovakia. For the home side, they'll hope to get another good win and avoid having any players ending on the treatment table.

Slovakia - Wales: Form Analysis
Slovakia play their second friendly of the week after beating San Marino 4-0 on Wednesday. Two goals were scored in the first ten minutes so they may well have expected to score more than four against their opponents. At least it got them back into winning ways after losing 2-0 to Austria and drawing 1-1 in Norway in their two friendlies played in March. They'd won three in a row before those poor results in March. Slovakia finished second in their Euro 2024 qualifying group, five points behind Portugal. They were five points clear of third-placed Luxembourg so automatically qualified for the finals. The two losses to Portugal were the only losses they suffered in qualifying. Only two of their last nine home games have ended in defeat.
Wales are still getting over the disappointment of losing to Poland in the play-offs. Despite having home advantage, they lost that game to the Poles via a penalty shootout. Their next major tournament is the UEFA Nations League where they play Turkey, Montenegro and Iceland. The Welsh side had a poor result on Thursday when only being able to draw 0-0 away to Gibraltar. Welsh fans booed their team and in particular their under-pressure coach Rob Page. That was their second consecutive goalless draw with the other being the play-off loss to Poland. That's two games and 210 minutes without a goal. Only one of their last five games has been won. Away form is poor with just one victory in their last eight matches played. That poor run can continue with a Slovakia home win here.
