Slovakia will be looking to bounce back from their shock loss to Kazakhstan when they host Azerbaijan in their next game in Group C3 of the UEFA Nations League. Slovakia will head into this game placed second on six points, two ahead of third placed Azerbaijan. The hosts have a chance at topping this group but that is dependent on Kazakhstan failing to win their remaining games. Going into this game Slovakia have three wins in five, and clean sheets in each of the wins. They’ve only lost to group leaders Kazakhstan, twice. In their last five matches, Slovakia have failed to score in one game only. Their home form hasn’t been impressive though; they get here with just one win in five home games. Ondrej Duda will be suspended for this game, having been sent off in Slovakia’s last outing.

Azerbaijan are coming into this game on the back of a very poor run. They did win their last game, beating Belarus 2-0 but that is their only win in the last 14 matches. Three of their last five matches have ended in losses and in four of the five, they’ve failed to score. It says a lot that their four points in this group have come from matches against the bottom side – Belarus. It is also from these two matches against Belarus that they managed their only clean sheets in the last five matches. Azerbaijan are winless in seven away matches – the last time they won an away game was in June of 2021, in Belarus. That remains their only away win in 14 outings. They’ve failed to score in the last three away matches and kept just one clean sheet in the last five.
