Sierra Leone go to their final Group E game at the 2021 AFCON against Equatorial Guinea hoping to register a win after two opening draws. The two nations have so far held up well in a group they were presumed underdogs. Sierra Leone, returning to the competition for the first time since 1996, have two points from draws with Ivory Coast and Algeria. To advance to the next round, this is a must win game for Sierra Leone; they have to go a notch higher from their opening two games. Equatorial Guinea scored the biggest shock of the competition with a 1-0 win over defending champions Algeria in their second game. They lost 1-0 to Ivory Coast in their opening game and go into this game on three points in second place. Things can change for the worst and they know this is a game they can’t afford to lose. Just like Sierra Leone, they haven’t had a great scoring run and each of their last seven matches has produced under 2.5 goals as a result. They don’t score a lot, but also don’t concede many goals.
