The home side won their most recent game 3-1 at home to Fleetwood Town who are currently bottom of League One. That was a much-needed win for the Shews who had lost their previous four games with eight goals conceded. They are only 13th in League One but just seven points above the relegation zone and 13 adrift of the final promotion play-off position. To reach this FA Cup third round for the seventh season in a row, Shrewsbury have had wins at home to Colchester United and at Notts County, both by a 3-2 scoreline.
