West Bromwich Albion lost to Brentford on Friday and 24 hours later, lost the leadership of the Championship. They are second going into this game and need to get a win at 13th placed Sheffield Wednesday. West Brom are now three points behind leaders Leeds United. However, United have a home game against relegation-threatened Luton Town the day before Albion play this game, a six-point deficit is more than likely. Most importantly for West Brom is earning automatic promotion by finishing in the top two. After the weekend games, they still have a five-point lead over third-placed Brentford but an inferior goal difference. Albion are on a bad run though with just two points from their last four league matches.  Even worse is the fact that West Brom didn't score in any of those four games. They need goals and points to avoid dropping down into the play-offs. Their away form has seen Albion win 11 out of 20 away league games, the best record in the Championship. The last two though have seen them draw 0-0 at Swansea City and lose 1-0 to Brentford.

Sheffield Wednesday are eight points behind the final play-off position after a 2-1 away win at Bristol City on Sunday. That victory took them ten points clear of the bottom three, so they look safe now.. Wednesday have only one point from their last three league matches. Four points have been earned from their last two league games. Those were needed as the previous two had both been lost with eight goals conceded. Home form for Wednesday has seen them win seven, draw six and lose six. They have only scored 17 home league goals this season, the worst record in the Championship. Three of their last five home league games have seen under 2.5 goals scored in them. That three out of five stat also applies to West Brom for their recent away league games. A bet on under 2.5 goals is the recommended one to make for this match.
