Sheffield Wednesday vs Nottingham Forest Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
Sheffield Wednesday may be 12th in the Championship but they still have a chance of making it into the top six to secure a promotion play-off position. They are only six points adrift but need to bounce back from their 3-1 home loss to in-form Aston Villa on Saturday. The defeat followed an away draw at Stoke City and they have to get back into winning ways or it'll be another season in the Championship for them. Their upcoming fixtures are two away games against the top two teams in the league (Norwich City and Leeds United) and a home game against sixth-placed Bristol City. How they get on in the next four games will determine if they have any chance of a return to the Premier League. The loss to Aston Villa ended a run of ten home games unbeaten in the Championship.
Nottingham Forest are three places above their opponents but only a point above them. They also had a disappointing weekend with a 2-1 loss away at relegation-threatened Rotherham United. Forest are only five points away from the top six but have only won one of their last four league games. On their travels, Forest have a terrible away record and that's what is stopping them get into the top six. They have won 11 home games but have no victories in their last 11 league games with just six points earned from draws. It's a must win game and Wednesday can get the victory.
