Sheffield Wednesday vs Manchester City Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in FA Cup Predictions
Manchester City clinched their first piece of silverware for the season with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the League Cup and they will be reverting to the FA Cup when they travel to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday. While City celebrated their win, Sheffield had another low to contend with as they suffered their 14th loss in the Championship, falling 3-1 at home to Derby County. It was their third loss in five matches and left the team winless in seven of their last eight matches. Sheffield’s only win in their last eight matches came against struggling Charlton. They have two wins in their last 10 matches. Having already eliminated a Premier League team, in the shape of Brighton will give Sheffield some hope. They have also beaten Leeds United this season but we all are aware that these two are way below the kind of challenge Manchester City will offer. Sheffield have one win in seven home matches and in three of the last five they have conceded three goals or more. They haven’t scored more than a goal in their last eight home matches but they will take pride in having won three of their last four FA Cup matches ahead of this clash. Their last win over City, came way back in 1994; they have not won in 11 meetings since.
By now, Manchester City know too well the Premier League title is out of their reach. They will thus put a lot of focus in the cup games and having won the League Cup, they stay in the chase for a treble and here they have a real chance of advancing. They have recovered well from their back to back losses to Tottenham and Manchester United and here they head with four straight wins, having scored at least two goals in three of the four matches. Each of their last three matches, they have played away from home, at very difficult venues, and won. They beat Real Madrid and Leicester City away from home and will look at this clash as a winnable game. With six wins in seven away games, we don’t doubt their placing as favorites here. They have straight wins in the last eight FA Cup matches.

Our Sheffield Wednesday vs Manchester City Prediction
Manchester City will be outright favorites in this game; they face a Sheffield Wednesday side struggling in the Championship and struggling at home too. In their last five home matches, Sheffield have conceded three or more goals in three. They have not won in seven of their last eight matches and facing a City side on six wins in seven away matches, and with a great run in the FA Cup doesn’t look so promising for the Championship side. City have scored at least two goals in three of their last four matches and we are backing them for a 2-0 win here.
