by Devesh Jaganath in FA Cup Predictions
The fourth round of the FA Cup will get underway this week, with Sheffield Wednesday taking on Coventry City on Friday evening. These two will be facing off for the second time in the space of a week after a Championship matchup last week, which Coventry won 2-1. That result extended their excellent run of form to four wins in a row, and they are now unbeaten in their last ten matches in all competitions. The last time The Sky Blues tasted defeat was against Ipswich Town on December 2. In league terms, they are unbeaten in their last nine games and have got themselves into sixth place with 43 points after 28 matches, just two points below West Bromwich Albion in fifth. Coventry’s first match in this competition was a 6-2 routing of Oxford United, which was followed by an incredible 3-1 league win over leaders Leicester City a week later. The visitors have all the momentum and the psychological advantage heading into this match, which sees them enter as the bookmakers' favourites.
Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats, having lost to Southampton 4-0 before last week's loss to this opponent. Those losses left them on 22 points in 28 league games and second bottom on the Championship table. They are five points from safety. Despite their struggles, Wednesday have shown improvement at home recently. They have won three of their last five at Hillsborough and have scored two or more in each of those victories. However, history is not on their side in this fixture as they have lost each of their last three matches against this opponent and were outscored 6-1 in that time.
