Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry City Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Struggling Sheffield Wednesday host an in form Coventry City in their latest English Championship fixture. The Owls have had a torrid season so far and after 27 games lie 22nd in the table, five points from safety. Xisco Munoz paid the penalty for that poor start when he was sacked in October, to be replaced by former Germany assistant coach Danny Rohl. Results have improved under Rohl, with notable wins over Rotherham, Blackburn Rovers, QPR, Preston and Hull City in the league giving the Owls at least a fighting chance of moving out of the relegation zone. However, a superb 4-0 FA Cup win over Cardiff was followed by a 4-0 thrashing by Southampton last weekend, leaving the Owls still battling to climb the table. 

In contrast, Mark Robins Coventry City team have been in excellent form late. The Sky Blues are unbeaten in their last nine games, winning all of the last three, and they sit in sixth place in the Championship after last weekend's impressive 3-1 win over table-toppers Leicester City. That moved City onto 40 points from their 27 games, but with just four points separating Coventry in 6th and Bristol City in 14th, there is no room for the visitors to slip up. The two teams met on Boxing Day at the Coventry Building Society Arena where a goal in each half from Japanese midfielder Tatsuhiro Sakamoto handed Coventry a comfortable 2-0 home win. This is the first of a double-header between the two teams as they have been drawn to face each other in the FA Cup Fourth Round next weekend too.
