Sheffield Wednesday vs Bournemouth Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
Sheffield Wednesday have been bottom of the Championship all season due to a deduction of 12 points. The problem now is they are playing like a team bottom of the league and now host third placed Bournemouth. Wednesday had made a reasonable start to the new season earning eight points from their first five games but each of their last four league fixtures have been lost. That leaves them stuck on minus four points and ten from safety. Without the points deduction Wednesday would be 20th in the table. Saturday was a terrible day for them as they lost 1-0 away to 23rd placed Wycombe Wanderers (their first victory of the season) leaving Wednesday eight points behind one from last place. Home form is another major worry for them. Actually, it's a very major worry for Wednesday. They have gone 11 home league games without a win with the last victory being on February 26. Just one of the last 17 home league fixtures have been won. All a bit of a shock considering they had been unbeaten in the previous seven. Scoring at home is another problem, only once in their last 27 home league games have they managed to score more than once. Three of the last four at Hillsbrough have had under 2.5 goals scored in them.
Bournemouth are third in the table, a point behind the second automatic promotion spot. They are the only unbeaten team in the Championship but five of their nine league games have been drawn. The Cherries had to come from behind to get a point at home to Derby County on Saturday but that did extend their unbeaten run to six games. Their away form isn't great though with no losses in four games this season but just one win. Three on the road have been drawn and each of those ended 1-1. Their only win has come at Coventry City. The usual high-scoring Bournemouth side hasn't been apparent this season. Seven of their last eight league games have seen under 2.5 goals scored, including the last five. A bet on this game having under 2.5 goals scored looks the one to go for here.

Our Sheffield Wednesday vs Bournemouth Prediction
Sheffield Wednesday are in big trouble down at the bottom of the Championship. The points deduction is bad enough but their form on the pitch has now deserted them with a string of defeats. Their home form is terrible too with only two points from four league games this season. Bournemouth are third in the table but drawing too many games. They have had to come from behind in two recent games to preserve their unbeaten record. The loss of players such as Wilson and Fraser has affected their scoring rate too. A bet on under 2.5 goals in this game is the suggested wager.
