Sheffield United fans will be hoping their teams' razor-sharp start to the season continues against Queens Park Rangers in the Championship this weekend. The Blades cut through both their opponents in the season's opening week, leaving QPR facing a tricky match at Bramall Lane. Will our prediction favour the expected home win, or a surprise victory for the visiting Hoops?
Chris Wilder will be thrilled with his team's start this season. Unbeaten in pre-season, Sheffield United have continued that great form into the new campaign, starting with a 2-0 win away to Preston last weekend. A result which, due to a two-point penalty imposed by the league, leaves them on one point in the fledgling table.
Next was a grudge match against League One Wrexham in the Carabao Cup First Round. The two teams met in a dramatic and bad-tempered FA Cup tie last season, which the Blades eventually won following a replay. They triumphed here, too, with an impressive 4-2 win against the Dragons.
QPR suffered a 3-1 home defeat to West Brom in their season opener, their fourth loss in a row, but ended that run with a 2-1 away win at Cambridge in the Carabao Cup. Michael Frey and Paul Smyth’s first-half strikes enough to fend off the U's.
Marti Cifuentes team had good form at the end of last season, but struggled in their later pre-season games and were well beaten in their Championship opener. This game looks to be even tougher; away against one of the teams bookmakers feel are a strong option for automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
