Sheffield United vs Preston North End Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Valeria Di Meglio | in Championship Predictions
Sheffield United are sixth in the Championship which is the final play-off spot. Last season they got off to a good start but faltered and failed to get a play-off spot. This season they got off to a bad start losing their opening two league games to West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough. Then they went 1-0 down at QPR but rallied to get their first win of the season winning 2-1. They went on to win their next three league games scoring nine goals in the process including a 4-1 home demolition of Aston Villa, It's not gone so well in their last two games losing to a goal nine minutes from time away at Bristol City and then being held to a goalless draw at home by Birmingham City.
Their opponents are having a rough time of it at present and are one from bottom in the table. They only have five points from their eight league games and have conceded 15 goals, more than any other team in the division. Their season started ok with a 1-0 home win over QPR but that's their only league victory to date. Next up they lost 1-0 at Swansea City and then followed that with a 2-2 draw at home against Stoke, twice giving away the lead. Their struggles continued with defeats away at Norwich City and Derby County and looked to be getting a second league win when 2-0 up at home against Bolton inside 16 minutes only to end up drawing 2-2. Their last two games have seen them lose 3-2 at home to Reading and then suffer a 3-0 defeat in midweek at league leaders Leeds United. Preston have failed to score in their last four away league games and this looks booked for a Sheffield United home win.
