Everton are coming from a tough outing against Manchester United, where they suffered a 2-0 loss courtesy of conceding two late goals, which saw them dumped out of the League Cup at the quarters stage. The Toffees will be gunning for recovery when they travel to Sheffield United for this Saturday fixture. Ahead of this game, hosts Sheffield have two points, at the bottom of the league standings. Meanwhile Everton are placed fourth with 26 points. Sheffield United have been the weakest team in the league this season; they have no win yet in the league and even in their 15 matches this season. They have no clean sheet in the 15 matches and have failed to score in seven of the 15 games. In their last match, they conceded a late goal against Brighton, which denied them the first win of the season and their situation was made worse with John Lundstram getting sent off. As Sheffield hosts Everton, Lundstram starts his three-match ban. Three of Sheffield’s last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals, with Sheffield the side on the receiving end most of the times. They scored first in the last two matches and could only collect a point from their struggles after Manchester United recovered to beat them 3-1 and Brighton to draw 1-1. The loss halted a winning run that had three straight victories and Everton will be hoping to start off again. With one of the best strikers in the league in Dominic Calvert Lewin, they have no problem in attack, and have scored in 12 of their last 15 matches. In the 15 matches, they have managed to score two or more goals in eight while they are unbeaten in their last four, with three straight wins in the Premier League. In their last two league matches, Everton have scored two or more goals and are unbeaten in their last three away league matches, winning two and drawing one. This season, Everton have registered wins at tough venues – at Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Crystal Palace – as such, they should find playing Sheffield away to be manageable. They have beaten Sheffield United in three of the last five meetings.
