Shakhtar Donetsk are eyeing their first win in Group D as they welcome Real Madrid in the Champions League Match Day 3 clash. The two sides have had mixed starts to their European journeys, Shakhtar having one point for far, at the bottom of the group and Real Madrid have three. Shakhtar have a six-game unbeaten run going into this game, and that traces back to when they were beaten by Sheriff, but they’ve failed to score in two of the last three. Last season, they beat Real Madrid home and away and they’ll be hoping for a repeat. In the last three Champions League matches, Shakhtar are winless and have failed to score in the last two. Their matches against Real Madrid have been high scoring; three of their last four have produced at least four goals per game.

Real will remember the home and away losses against Shakhtar last season and as they look to avoid a repeat, they will also be aiming at improving on a run of just one win in five Champions League matches.
