Sevilla vs Rennes Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League

After Match Day 1 of the UEFA Champions League, all the teams in Group E are on one point. Sevilla will be hosting French side Rennes on Match Day 2 with both sides hoping to take the early advantage in this group. The Spanish side drew 0-0 with Chelsea as Rennes drew 1-1 with Russian side Krasnodar. Sevilla have not had a very smooth run after winning the Europa League at the tail end of last season. They did start La Liga with two wins in two but after that they have no win in the matches that followed. They also lost to Bayern Munich in the Super Cup clash and will be seeking some reprieve here. They had another bad outing on Saturday as they suffered a 1-0 home loss to Eibar, which left them without a goal in three straight matches. The loss to Eibar also left them on just one clean sheet in their last four matches, while they have three in the last 10 matches. At home though, Sevilla are a different team; the loss to Eibar in their most recent game, is the only one in their last 14 at their backyard. It was also only the second time in 10 home matches that Sevilla have failed to score, while they have seven clean sheets in 10 home matches. That, added to their experience in Europe places them firmly as favorites.

On their part, Rennes are relatively inexperienced in the Champions League. Their game against Krasnodar was their first ever in the competition. The French side is already feeling the pressures of playing in midweek against tougher opponents and right after their Champions League game, they suffered their first loss of the season. Rennes fell 2-1 at home to Angers in Ligue 1 and as they embark on the journey to Spain, they will be hoping to bounce back in an unfamiliar territory. The loss on Friday means they have no clean sheet in three straight matches, but they will hold some attacking potency, having scored in all their nine matches this season. Only one clean sheet in nine matches is not a stat Rennes will be proud of as they head to Seville though. The French side has played four away matches this season, and have not lost any, winning two and drawing two but this will be a very different game from the away matches they have been involved in.
