Sevilla once sta at the top of the La Liga table after a good start, but all that has been blown by straight losses to Real Madrid and Eibar, having also had a draw with Celta Vigo earlier. The dropped points have left the side at seventh place, on 10 points, three behind Real Sociedad, who picked their third straight win on Thursday to move second on the standings, with 13 points, just one behind Real Madrid. On Thursday, Sevilla started their match against Eibar well and took a 2 – 0 lead to the break but capitulated in the second and conceded three goals in 19 minutes to suffer a second straight loss, after falling 0 – 1 to Real Madrid at home earlier, and they will be hoping their return home comes with a good result. They have however not been consistent in La Liga at home; in the last five home matches in La Liga they have just two wins and two clean sheets.

Real Sociedad on the other hand, have picked three straight wins heading to this game and scored at least two goals in the process, while managing two clean sheets. They have seven wins in the last 10 La Liga matches they have played. They have also beaten one of the best defensive sides, Atletico Madrid 2 – 0 this season already and facing Sevilla, they will know what to expect. Real Sociedad must however seek to improve on their away from in La Liga, having won just four of their last 16 away league matches and facing a Sevilla side that has scored in seven of the last eight league matches doesn’t look so good on Real Sociedad, especially considering that they have conceded in eight of their last 10 away matches. Over the last two seasons, Real Sociedad have won back to back away matches just twice, and after winning at Espanyol in their last away game, they will be hoping to make it two in a row here.
