Sevilla will be looking to put their European disappointment behind them when they host Getafe in La Liga on Saturday. They currently sit 16th after 16 rounds of play and trail Getafe in ninth by nine points. Sevilla were bundled out of Europe in midweek after losing 2-1 away to French side Lens in the Champions League. The loss saw them finish bottom of their group without registering a single victory. Sevilla have struggled throughout the campaign and it is not only in Europe where they found the going tough. Los Nervionenses have won four matches all season and only two of those have come in the league. This poor showing has placed them in the relegation picture and currently sit just three points above the drop zone. But having won seven of the last eight meetings with Getafe, Diego Alonso’s men will fancy their chances here.

Getafe are faring much better than Sevilla and will arrive here confident of securing a sixth league victory. The Azulones have proved difficult to beat and since September, they have lost only once in the 12 matches in this period. They have won five times with two of those wins coming in their last two outings. Getafe defeated Valencia 1-0 last time out to move up to 22 points, seven adrift of the European places. Saturday’s visitors are yet to win an away match though they have drawn four of their last five such games.
