Sevilla will be counting on home comforts as they return to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for the league game against Celta Vigo. Both sides aren’t clear of relegation worries, Sevilla sitting 14th and Celta Vigo 17th in the standings. Hosts Sevilla have had an upturn in fortunes recently, and come here on 28 points, six above the dreaded relegation zone. They will be looking to improve on their last-minute heartbreak that saw them draw 2-2 with Almeria last time out. Late goals from Dodi Lukebakio and Lucas Ocampos almost completed a comeback from Sevilla before Marko Milanovi scored Almeria’s equalizer. Sevilla will hope to turn that disappointment into strength as they return home, where they are unbeaten in three games. They won their last two matches there, the most recent a 3-2 victory over Real Sociedad. The concern for them however, remains in defence, having managed just a clean sheet in their last 14 home matches. In La Liga, Sevilla have just two clean sheets in the last 11 matches. They’ve however failed to score in just two home league matches this season.

Celta Vigo, just like Sevilla, aren’t doing so well in the season. Their relegation fears are much bigger though. The visitors come into this game with 24 points, and placed just two points ahead of the relegation spot. Any slight miscalculation here could end with Celta Vigo closing the weekend in the red zone. Claudio Giraldez will be well aware of such ramifications thus must rally his charges to improve on the 4-0 loss to Real Madrid. One win in the last five matches isn’t the best run to take to such a game. Four straight draws with Sevilla will, however, build the confidence in Celta Vigo that they can get a win finally. Their reverse fixture ended 1-1 with Sevilla coming from behind after Celta Vigo’s Renato Tapia’s sending off. This encounter has been eventful in the last three fixtures, producing four red cards. One of the visitors’ last two away matches had a red card too. Coming here, Celta Vigo will not only hope for a calmer game, but also a return to scoring ways. After scoring in five straight games, they were stopped by Real Madrid.
