Sevilla vs Arsenal Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League

This will not be the first time Sevilla faces an English opponent in Europe this season. They lost to Manchester City on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup earlier. To get to the Champions League, they beat another English side, Manchester United on their way to winning the Europa League yet again. However, their run against English sides isn't great. The Spaniards have just two wins in nine meetings with English teams. Coming into this game, Sevilla will feel the pain of dropped points in their last Group B game. They conceded in stopping time against PSV on Match Day 2. In that encounter, which ended 2-2, Sevilla led twice but had to settle for a point. It was the same case away to Lens on Match Day 1. Back then they failed to protect a 1-0 lead at home to Lens and it ended 1-1. That made it three games without a win in the Champions League. Sevilla have managed just one win in nine Champions League matches and they will hope to improve on that run. Coming into this game, they also led 1-0 against Real Madrid but that ended 1-1 in La Liga. The imbalance in attack and defense means they've managed no clean sheets in the last five matches. Meanwhile, they failed to score in one of the five matches, three of which had over 2.5 goals. It's not going well for them in La Liga and Sevilla are currently in 13th place and only three points above the relegation zone with only two points earned from their last three league fixtures. 

Arsenal haven't played a Spanish side since losing to Villarreal in the 2020/21 Europa League semi-finals. Away to Spanish teams, they have managed just three wins in 17. Like Sevilla, they've also been shaky in their recent matches. They are coming from a 2-2 draw with Chelsea, a game in which they showed great fighting spirit. The Gunners trailed Chelsea 2-0 after 48 minutes but managed to force the draw. After the weekend fixtures in the Premier League, the Gunners are in third place but only two points behind leaders Tottenham. They will be keen on improving on their last Champions League outing though a draw here and beating Sevilla at home would have them well on the way to the knockout stages.  Arsenal failed to protest a 1-0 lead in the game, ending up 2-1 losers to Lens on Match Day 2. In between their last three matches, the Gunners beat European champions Manchester City in a league game. This run of results points to an unstable side, but on paper the Gunners are a strong side. They are capable of bagging three points here and they will definitely go for that. The fact that they have failed to win two straight away matches will worry them though. Arsenal have conceded four goals in the two away matches, but their fighting spirit has had them scoring three.
