Senegal take on Zimbabwe in their second match of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. The Senegalese managed a 2-0 win over Tunisia in their first match of the tournament, and by the end of the opening weekend they were the first team to have won, after all other matches ended in draws. Zimbabwe gave a surprising performance in their opening game against Algeria, whom they held to a 2-2 draw at the end of regulation time. The Warriors were leading the Desert Warriors 2-1 until the 82nd minute when Riyad Mahrez scored a hard-sought equalizer. Prior to the weekend, all pointers indicated that Zimbabwe would struggle through the tournament owing to the disorganization challenges that plagued them until match week. The Warriors had almost missed out on the tournament after players staged a sit-in demanding their allowances and missed salaries be paid first. Luckily, their government came through and addressed the issue, allowing them to jet off for the African championship. Their show against Algeria showed that they had clear intentions of staying in the tournament and Senegal should not expect an easy day. Senegal, who are much-more experienced in the tournament than Zimbabwe, have the influential Liverpool forward Sadio Mane on their squad and will be riding on his skill to win the match. However, the warriors have Tinotenda Kaderwere and Knowledge Musona to contest him, a pair-up that might drive most of the match to be orchestrated in the midfield.
