Senegal was the first team to qualify for the quarterfinals of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations after breezing through its first two group matches. The team beat both Tunisia and Zimbabwe 2-0, which pushed them to the next round of the tournament with one match at hand. They drew 2-2 with Algeria in their final match of the group.
