Western Conference league leaders, the Seattle Sounders, will host fifth-placed San Jose Earthquakes on Thursday. San Jose’s biggest issue in recent times has undoubtedly been their away form. The visitors have failed to win any of their seven matches on the road this season, losing five and drawing just two. Their winless run is now up to 14 matches, having last earned a win on their travels in July last year. Despite their poor away record, the Earthquakes have not lost to this opponent in their last three encounters, two of which were at this venue.
