Seattle Sounders clash with Montreal in a hugely significant game for both. With the home side sitting seventh in the standings and the away side surprisingly occupying the eastern division’s second place, both teams will be up for this. The hosts are a team very much in groove at the moment. They have started showing glimpses of the form that offered them their historic, first ever Concacaf Champions League, with three wins and one draw in their last four. They have also scored ten goals in those games, while in a peculiar scheduling quirk, this will be Seattle’s fifth home game in a row, having taken ten points of a possible twelve in the previous four. This is bound to work in their favour, with Lumen Field having become a fortress in recent times. The team from Seattle have just lost once there in normal time in their last eleven, but have kept clean sheets in just four of those. They have also failed to score in two of their last three home meetings against Montreal.

The team from Canada are in equally good form currently. They have three wins in their last five and picked up a much-needed win against Charlotte to bounce back from their humbling 4-0 loss to Toronto (which was for the Canadian Championship). However, Montreal have showed that they are unfazed by formidable home grounds, putting four past Cincinnati, two past the New York Red Bulls, as well as scoring against Philadelphia Union and New York City.
