Scotland vs Israel Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro
by Daniel Ngulu | in Euro Predictions
Scotland are seeking qualification to a first major tournament in 22 years and this could come to fruition in the European Championships in 2021. They, however, will need to go past Israel first, in the playoff semi final at Hampden Park on Thursday. Scotland Manager Steve Clarke has instilled some rhythm in the team and with a fine streak and key players returning from injury, the team knows this is a golden opportunity. If they defeat Israel they will take on either Serbia or Norway in November in the final step before making an appearance at the big stage after last taking part in the 1998 World Cup. The match was originally slated for March but the manager will be happy to have it now, with Oli McBurnie, Scott McTominay, Andrew Robertson, Kieran Tierney and John McGinn all fit for Scotland. The Scots go to this clash unbeaten in the last five matches and will be right to think they have turned the corner after four straight losses earlier. A lot of credit will go to the manager as well, having done well at Kilmarnock before taking up this job. Perhaps the only concern for Clarke will be the lack of clean sheets in the last four matches but with key men returning in defence, he should be in a position to address that. On the flipside, Scotland has scored in each of the last five matches and only failed to score in three of the last 11. They have scored two or more goals in four of the last five and with a three-game unbeaten run at home, the momentum will be there to go for a win. This match will be played behind closed door and somehow, it could be an advantage for the Scots, as the ‘Hampden Park roar’ tends to put the more inexperienced players under pressure.
Israel on the other hand, have not had a good run heading to this game. They have no win in their last four matches, just two draws and two losses. With just one win in their last nine outings, they will definitely have to do some extra work here. None of the last nine matches has ended in a clean sheet for the Israelis, though they have scored in seven of the nine matches. It has been worse for Israel away from home, with the team failing to win any of their last five; their most recent, a 1-1 draw with Scotland, to recover from four straight away losses. The two sides are chasing a win in a one-off tie and Israel, who came from down to register a draw in Glasgow in the Nations League in September will have a few tricks up their sleeves against the Scots. They have scored in five of their last seven away matches and in each of their three trips to Scotland, they have found the back of the net.

Our Scotland vs Israel Prediction
Scotland have the advantage of playing at home and with a good run as well as key players’ availability. They are in a better form compared to Israel and will be looking to seal this, being a one-off clash. We expect both sides to give their all as there will be no other chance, and going to it, the defensive/attacking prowess will matter a lot. Scotland have one clean sheet in their last five matches but have scored in eight of their last 11 so we are backing them to score here. On the other hand, Israel may be the underdogs, having lost four of their last five away matches, but they have scored in seven of their last eight matches. They have scored in each of their last three visits to Scotland and we feel that trend will continue here. A dominant display is expected from Scotland, and a good bet here would be on the hosts to lead in both halves.
